Fahrion later designed thirty-two characters for Those Characters From Cleveland. Fahrion also directed the first doll which was created by her sister, Susan Trentel. It was a rag doll.

All the characters of the Strawberry Shortcake line had their name and clothing based on some fruity or dessert and each of them had a fruit-named or dessert-named pet. The Strawberry Shortcake doll as well as all the other characters' dolls had scented hair and the scent matched their dessert theme. The characters lived in a magical world called as Strawberryland.
