The first Ducky to clear the finish line is declared the winner. The Duckies are then collected to be used again later. In the US alone, hundreds of Ducky races are held. In one of the race one lac duckies are floated. The money raised from the race goes to the Freestore Foodbank in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Halifax Duck Derby is a famous rubber duck race. 10,000 Duckies take part in the race for a grand prize of $1 million Canadian dollars. There are other prizes as well, like, large screen TVs, a trip to anywhere in Canada, and more.

Ken-Ducky Derby is a fast-growing duck race. It is held in Louisville, KY. The proceeds benefit the Harbor House of Louisville. It is a training and development facility for adults with disabilities. 

The Great British Duck Race was held on August 31, 2008 near Hampton Court Palace, London. Around 250,000 blue plastic duckies were used.
